Introduction to Siba Park Office
Mita 4-chome, where the former office was located, is known as the "Tsuki no Misaki", and the sea spreads before your eyes until the Edo period .
Shiba Park, which was relocated this time, was also a cape with an expanse of sea from ancient times, with shell mounds from the Jomon period still remaining .
Its position is just opposite the Cape of the Moon.
At the tip of the cape, overlooking the sea at that time, is the Shiba Maruyama Tumulus, which was a keyhole-shaped burial mound. It is not hard to imagine that the view from the sea was spectacular .
It probably belonged to a family that controlled the waters of Tokyo Bay, indicating its power.
After all, from time immemorial, it has been a special place of life and ceremony.
Like Tsuki no Misaki, it is one of the best power spots in Tokyo where you can feel the special veins of the earth .
That's why Zojoji Temple was built and Tokyo Tower was built.
And the 32 Shibakoen Building , which was relocated this time , is also built on the cape.
"Shibakoen 32 Mori Building " was built in May 1977 by Takenaka Corporation .
One of Mori Building's early number buildings , the current building name "32 Shibakoen Building " is a remnant of that.
A stately vintage office overlooking Tokyo Tower and Shiba Park.
The wood used for furniture is rubber wood (rubber laminated lumber).
It is one of the cheapest laminated lumber, and is rarely used in places where design is required due to the preconceived notion that it is cheap.
However, laminated wood in the same price range is mostly softwood, which is lightweight and soft, while rubber is hardwood and has hardness and strength that can be used as a counter. It is hard to scratch, easy to process, and the wood grain is not peculiar, so it can be painted beautifully. This time, it is lightly dyed to harmonize with the interior, and the expression is calm.
Rubber trees are planted to extract natural rubber in South America and Southeast Asia. However, if it is not replanted after 25-30 years, the sap will lose momentum. The wood is easily rotten, easily attacked by insects, and has a large degree of warpage.
It was actually a Japanese company (Nikka Japan Co., Ltd.) that solved the problem.
Rubberwood was born from the idea of "mottainai" by clearing the challenges one by one.
Rubber is a fast-growing tree that lives in hot regions. By fixing carbon as laminated wood, it is an "environmentally friendly wood" that helps reduce CO2.
SYRINX is a leather brand, but leather is a by-product of slaughtered cows.
Waste rubber trees are also a by-product of natural rubber.
I thought that rubberwood, which has the same background as leather, was the only suitable wood for the new office where SRYINX also lives.
The old system has been in use for about 17 years since 2005. It is an excellent system that is light, flexible, and easy to customize, and has been the core of our site for a long time. However, it is undeniable that there is a lack of functions to realize what we want to develop in the future.
The new system is also used by the leather brand SYRINX . It may be the first case that a design office adopts it.
You may wonder why it's the same as e-commerce, but we adopted it in anticipation of unification of operations, adoption of the latest technology, and future business development potential.
Functionally, it is also possible to install a 3D AR model on the project page, and various possibilities will expand in the future.
We will continue to devote ourselves to the future, so please continue to support us.
Also, the old newsletter will be discontinued.
We apologize for the inconvenience, but we would appreciate it if you could register for the newsletter again.

We will introduce how designers and creators search for ways to find 'well-being' in their respective fields."
A big oyster party with 2 cans of oysters for the first time in a while.
A shell mound is possible. The photo shows about 60% of one can. (smile)
Transfer it from the 18-liter can to a large pot, pour sake over it, and steam it over the heat. You can munch on the finished steamed sake with your hands. This is the most delicious. After that, take advantage of the remaining soup and add oysters and vegetables to make an oyster pot.
Today, a student from France who came as an intern the year before last came to see me because he wanted to interview me for his master's thesis.
Even 9 men couldn't finish it. Leftover oysters are pickled in oil at home late at night. At a later date, it was delicious with curry, pasta and saute.

“It is extremely difficult to take in the external environment in the city center, but this project focuses on 'light' as an external environment. Science is born inside the house. I appreciated the change of time, the weather and the four seasons through the change of light. ”(Judge's comment)
LUXUDEAR Takanawa
“It is an apartment complex for singles, which is expected to be used in a variety of ways, but it seems that the simple dwelling unit plan is compatible with that. It is designed very carefully, taking into consideration the line of sight from the inside to the outside. In addition, the one side corridor that tends to be bleak is put in a glass block on the side of the side of the dwelling unit, and it is combined with the dirt floor inside to create privacy. The design that gives expression to the hallway while also paying attention to this is excellent.”

"Message from the Sky 2", which we have designed and supervised in Jingumae, Shibuya-ku, has been completed, and we will hold an open house.
The expression of the sky, which changes from moment to moment, is repeated and fused with the interior space, sometimes creating a splendid pattern, and at other times taking on the colors of the seafloor, revealing the sky from time to time.
It's an irregular time slot limited to the morning when the pattern is beautiful, but it will be held for 3 days, so please stop by and give us your impressions.
Location: 7 minutes on foot from Gaienmae Station (The map will be sent to those who inquire)
Date: October 20th (Thursday), 21st (Friday), 22nd (Saturday), 2016 8:00-10:30

Many of the civilizations that began in Sumer shared their destinies with forests from birth to decline, and civilizations were born with forests, and died with the loss of forests. It springs up.
Since the Industrial Revolution, the main source of energy has shifted from trees to fossil fuels, and we rarely see trees being cut down as an energy source, as in ancient civilizations. However, looking at the world from a global perspective, deforestation continues, with excessive logging and burning of forests until they cannot recover in order to support the rapidly increasing population. Moreover, even in the familiar forests of Japan, deer and wild boars are increasing, and the bark of existing trees and newly planted saplings are being eaten, and the forest environment is becoming unsustainable.
See if there's something you can do yourself, and actively as part of a sustainable business. While thinking about it, I came across Ezo deer leather.
Yezo deer live throughout Hokkaido and are the largest subspecies of the sika deer. They have a strong reproductive power, and since humans have stolen their natural predators, wolves, they have increased to the point of completely destroying the vegetation of the forest. Therefore, in order to build a good symbiotic relationship between forests, Yezo deer, and people into the future, it is important to maintain an appropriate population. Since 2010, more than 100,000 Yezo deer have been captured each year to control the population. However, Yezo deer leather has scars unique to wild animals on the surface, and the supply is unstable.
We believe that we have a responsibility to take the life of Yezo deer because we killed wolves for our own reasons. So, the first thing I could do was make a SYRINX speaker using this Yezo deer leather.
About Yezo deer leather
SYRINX, which proposes a new way to use leather, does not waste the life of Hokkaido's bounty of nature, "Yezoshika", respects it, and uses it carefully until the end. We would like to expand the new possibilities of sika deer leather, let many people know its existence, and spread the effective use of sika deer leather to society.
]]>SYRINX is a speaker with the theme of harmony between sound, space and heart. In pursuit of infinitely clear sound, the sound melts into the space. We aim to create speakers that convey the joy of sound to the heart in everyday life.
Why is an architect an audio brand?
I think most of you are skeptical.
There were no speakers that I wanted to use in the space I designed.
So was the design, but the sound was more of an issue.
As usual, in the end, I thought, "Let's make it myself!" and started researching and building speakers.
However, when I tried to make speakers, I realized that the sound of commercially available speakers was so elaborate that I couldn't help but wonder if they were serious about developing the sound that is the essence.
Meeting Mr. Suga of Ensound, who advocates soft enclosures, was also a big trigger.
After two years, we have finally completed a speaker that satisfies us, and today we are announcing that we want as many people as possible to enjoy good sound. I was.
With a flexible body made of elegant genuine leather, it has a design unlike any other speaker.
After researching various types of leather, the leather tanned in the traditional way in Florence, Italy, seemed to be the best for sound. By encountering this leather, I was able to know that genuine Italian leather is like this.
The more instruments the speaker has, the more difficult it is to reproduce the original sound, and the sound becomes muffled. It is suitable for any kind of music if each instrument of an orchestra with many instruments from low to high can be properly separated and reproduced.
If you play an orchestra through SYRINX, you will find that the resolution and transparency stand out compared to conventional speakers. It is possible to audition at our company. We would appreciate it if you could give us your opinions and impressions.
]]>A public judging will be held at Tokyo Midtown on January 27, 2017 to determine the Grand Prize.
For details, please see the 2015 Tokyo Business Design Award Proposal Final Screening -TOKYO DESIGN PRESENTATION- .
The "Tokyo Business Design Award" is a corporate-participation design and business proposal competition aimed at collaborating with small and medium-sized manufacturing companies in Tokyo and designers with excellent problem-solving and proposal capabilities.
The high technology and special materials possessed by small and medium-sized manufacturing companies will be selected as the "theme" of the competition.
For the selected "theme", the designer proposes a "proposal" for the design of the entire business centered on the development of new uses, etc., aiming to realize an excellent business proposal.
The award I received was "Proposal for laminated aluminum lumber utilizing caulking technology."
The details of the proposal are kept secret until the final screening.
If you are interested, please come and visit us.
Recently, the work example section is held every other year, so it will be a consecutive award following the 20th "TAILOR MADE" .
]]>It's not possible to look around all the booths due to the size of the booth, but the exhibition trends are almost the same, so it's very easy to understand the trends. In about two years, Japan may also be in line with this trend. There were three major trends.
The most noticeable thing is the wooden tiles. Above all, the ones that expressed a vintage feeling were putting effort into each company. I was particular about the touch.
Cement (mortar-like) tiles were always on display along with wooden tiles. This is also the main product with a vintage feel.
There were many tiles that expressed a weathered texture not only in flooring and cement, but also in stones, bricks, and textiles.
Recent digital printing technology (inkjet) has made it possible to easily reproduce any pattern in a realistic manner, revolutionizing the world of ceramic tiles. Currently, production in China, Brazil, India, etc. is also booming, but why is Italy at the forefront?
Cersaie's opening celebration was held in the great hall of a historic palace in Sassuolo (about an hour's drive from Bologna), where the tile factories are densely packed, and you can admire the wonderful frescoes painted on the ceiling. I fell in love with it.
(The venue is Palazzo ducale. The huge sculpture that greets you looks like a Nio statue.)
(The great hall where the celebration took place, filled with frescoes.)
(Awesome frescoes on the ceiling. Can you tell from the horizontal molding up that it's not real?)
Japanese fusuma paintings are similar in that they construct an imaginary space, but frescoes are more realistic and fusuma paintings are more abstract.
Also, for example, the plaster on the wall in Japan is just white and flat, and is pressed down with artistic craftsmanship.
On the other hand, Italy invented marble-like stucco (Venetian stucco) with marble powder instead of expensive marble. (This is also a painstaking job.)
This sensibility has something in common with the passionate pursuit of ultra-realistic ceramic tiles.
Of course, due to fierce competition with other regions with cheap labor, the need to pursue technology and differentiate is also a background.
However, I believe that Italy will continue to be at the forefront of ceramic tiles because of this sensibility.
As an aside, there are realistic wooden sheets in Japan, but they are limited to reproducing the texture of wood. If it were Italy, there would be no doubt that they would take a few more steps and be particular about not only the realism of the materials, but also the reproduction of the vintage feel and the texture of the worn paint. No matter how long you wait for the seat, the taste will not come out.
In addition to the trends mentioned above, Italy's technical prominence in recent years is the increasing size of tiles.
Several companies are commercializing giant tiles as large as 3.2mx1.6m.
With this size, you can create a kitchen counter like a monolith.
Moreover, with tiles, you can use soft stone types that are not suitable for counters.
Ultra-large format tiles have the potential to open up new markets that have never existed before.
(A gigantic large-format tile. Although it is as thin as 6mm, the back is reinforced with resin.)
I immediately began observing and researching the details of the ends and rome of the large tiles to see if I could use them in my current project, but my honest impression is that it is quite difficult.
Even with a full-body tile (a tile that is made of the same material as the surface even on the inside and has little discomfort in the cross section), it is difficult.
Even if it is fastened, the texture of the slightly visible edges will be different.
I once again realized that the 1mm at the edge is the key to the solid texture of natural stone.
(Counter example. The texture of the edge part is inferior to that of the tile surface.
At the very least, I want the pattern of the tiles to be continuous on the top and sides. )
However, I found a product with a continuous pattern all the way to the inside!
It belongs to FMG, and ABC Shokai is the distributor in Japan.
(Solid, super-large marble-like tiles with continuous patterns all the way to the inside.)
This visit was a valuable experience that allowed me to deepen my knowledge of ceramic tiles.
]]> 2014 was a bit of a hot topic when IBM announced a new chip with a completely different architecture inspired by the SyNAPSE brain. It's called a neurosynaptic computer chip. It is expected to be able to understand things autonomously like humans and animals, and has the potential to fundamentally change computing. (quoted below)
"The chip is the size of a postage stamp, with 1 million programmable neurons and 256 million synapses, performing 46 billion synaptic operations per second at 1 W of power. Widespread today." It adopts a completely different architecture from the von Neumann computer, and it is said that it has virtually unlimited scalability. On the other hand, because of the different architecture, it is necessary to learn from the programming model itself in order to use it. There is."
The handle design of Steps IV is introduced in "Detail 201" p65.
