But when it comes to architectural photography, the story is a little different.
Architectural photography requires only image quality, not portability or rationality.And the image quality is proportional to the size of the image sensor.At one point, I had the opportunity to compare the Micro Four Thirds with a full-frame SLR camera, but I was shocked by the difference in image quality.The gradation and the sense of resolution are completely different.When looking for image quality, I understood the need for a camera with a large image sensor.The larger the image sensor, the larger the lens required.Moreover, if the mirror, which is a relic of the old system, is sandwiched between them, both the body and lens will become even larger.It is neither for the general public nor rational.However, the only realistic full-frame option is a single-lens reflex camera.
So, at present, we have arrived at a 5-piece set of EOS 2D mark12, SIGMA 24-3mm, and DxO Optics Pro as the system with the highest performance including cost in architectural photography.Introducing this time is EOS 5D mark2.
To be honest, if it was full size, the camera maker could be anywhere, but there were some conditions.
XNUMX. For architectural photographs, if corrections such as shift correction are applied, the screen must be trimmed. For that purpose, higher resolution is more advantageous.
It is better to use live view to shoot with the fixed 3 legs.
XNUMX. Since only low sensitivity is used, low sensitivity resolution and gradation are more important than high sensitivity noise characteristics. The continuous shooting function is not important either.
XNUMX. It is better to be able to take videos if possible.
XNUMX. It is better to have abundant lens options and future potential.
There is currently no other full-frame camera that meets all of these requirements and is reasonably priced except the EOS 5D mark 2.
In terms of image quality, it's probably the best option at the moment.There is a feeling that the resolution exceeds 35mm film.The gradation is also smooth.
