Until now, DSLRs thought that they were not suitable for architectural photography, but this camera has changed their recognition.
I introduced earlierLUMIX G1Micro Four Thirds cameras are mirror-less structures and are suitable for wide-angle lenses. However, the advantage of shortening the distance between the lens and the imaging device can be maximized by downsizing the system. Therefore, the lens is compact and the image sensor is also compact. There is no doubt that this is a reasonable system that has a very high balance between portability and performance. The concept of supplementing the lens performance with digital correction is also wonderful. I think this is the best system for everyday use.
But when it comes to architectural photography, the story is a little different.
All that is required of architectural photography is image quality, not portability or rationality. The image quality is proportional to the size of the imaging device. One time, I had the opportunity to compare Micro Four Thirds with a full-size SLR camera, but I was shocked by the difference in image quality. The gradation and the sense of resolution are completely different. The need for a high quality image sensor clearly shows the need for a camera with a large image sensor. As the image sensor becomes larger, a larger lens is required in proportion thereto. Moreover, if it is sandwiched between the mirrors, which are relics of the old system, both the body and the lens will become even larger. Neither general nor reasonable. But the only viable full-size option is an SLR.
So, at present, we have arrived at the EOS5D mark2, SIGMA 12-24mm, and DxO Optics Pro three-piece set as the most high-performance system including cost in architectural photography. This time, EOS3D mark5 is introduced.
To be honest, the camera maker could be anywhere if it was full size, but there were some conditions.

XNUMX. For architectural photographs, if corrections such as shift correction are applied, the screen must be trimmed. For that purpose, higher resolution is more advantageous.
It is better to use live view to shoot with the fixed 3 legs.
XNUMX. Since only low sensitivity is used, low sensitivity resolution and gradation are more important than high sensitivity noise characteristics. The continuous shooting function is not important either.
XNUMX. It is better to be able to take videos if possible.
XNUMX. It is better to have abundant lens options and future potential.

To meet all of these, there is currently no full-size camera at a realistic price other than the EOS5Dmark2.
In terms of image quality, it's currently the best option. There is a feeling that the resolution exceeds 35mm film. The gradation is also smooth.
