DxO Optics Pro

 Impressive French-made RAW development software.
It is no exaggeration to say that we have decided to introduce a digital SLR camera because of this software.
Regardless of the sensor size, it is difficult for an ultra-wide-angle lens to take beautiful pictures up to the periphery.I introduced earlier in "LUMIX G1" that the LUMIX G series is a good solution to this problem. It is an epoch-making system that seamlessly corrects various aberrations of the lens inside the camera.
DxO Optics Pro introduced here is simply software that does them during RAW development. The software has built-in data for various camera and lens combinations, and it automatically corrects distortion, peripheral illumination, chromatic aberration, and peripheral blur. This is really moving. In addition, shift correction and horizontal / vertical fine adjustment can be intuitively and perfectly corrected.
The SIGMA 12-24mm lens I'm using is a super wide-angle lens (that's why?), But it's quite problematic.First of all, the amount of peripheral light drops very much, the surrounding image is easy to flow, and the distortion is very good, but it is not perfect because it is a zoom lens after all.
However, if you narrow down to f16 and use it in combination with this software, it will quickly turn into a really excellent ultra-wide-angle lens with almost no optical defects.
This software is not without its drawbacks.First of all, the processing speed is extremely slow, probably because there are various correction items.
As for the image quality, the resolution is quite high, and the finish is flashy, but the impression is clear. In addition, it has an excellent function called DxO Lighting, and it can be easily brightened as if using auxiliary light with a reflector, which is quite useful. To be honest, it is difficult to do the same processing in Photoshop.
It can be said to be the strongest architectural photo development software.
